The 220 grain bullet is superb. Easy loading, accurate at 300 yards, and hard hitting on steel targets. I called and spoke with customer service and the gentleman was very polite and knowledgeable. I run these at 1,400 fps from a 1/8 twist 16″ barrel with CFE Black and a magnum primer. Chrono’d at 1,410 with a SD of 6. Quality product.

About 220 Grain 300 Blackout Bullets

300 AAC Blackout ammo emerged as a revolutionary development in rifle ballistics, designed to provide optimal performance in both supersonic and subsonic loads. The 220 grain bullet weight specifically caters to subsonic applications, offering shooters enhanced terminal performance at lower velocities. When loaded to subsonic speeds, these heavy bullets maintain excellent accuracy while minimal noise, particularly in suppressed rifles.

The bullet’s weight and design work harmoniously with the standard twist rate found in most 300 Blackout barrels, typically 1:7” or 1:5” twist, ensuring proper stabilization for consistent shot groupings. While lighter bullets (such as our 150 and 180 grain options) excel in supersonic loads for extended range performance, the 220 gr projectile shines in close-range applications like home defense where controlled expansion and energy transfer are paramount.

Our Bullet-Making Process

At Berry’s, our proprietary manufacturing process begins with precision-swaged lead cores, formed under high pressure for optimal density and flight characteristics. Each core undergoes our advanced electroplating process, where we apply a precise copper jacket through controlled chemical reaction. This results in a perfectly bonded copper-lead projectile with zero exposed lead.

The final manufacturing stage involves re-striking each bullet through precision dies, ensuring exact dimensional specifications and reinforcing the copper-core bond. Every batch undergoes rigorous quality control, guaranteeing consistent performance for handloaders seeking premium components for their custom loads.

Why Choose Berry’s Bullets?

Berry’s Superior Plated Bullets® combine premium materials with precision manufacturing to deliver consistent, accurate projectiles for every shooting discipline. Our copper-plated bullets are indoor range approved and provide exceptional performance in both bolt guns and semi-automatic rifles. The proprietary plating process ensures reliable feeding and controlled expansion, while maintaining the cost-effectiveness that high-volume shooters demand.
